Location
Bali-Nyonga is located in Cameroon's North West Province at the transition between the grasslands and the forest to the South and West. Bamenda, the provincial capital, is 20 km (14 mi.) to the Northeast.
Population
Depending on who you ask, Bali-Nyonga has a population of 5000 to more than 30,000. The lower estimate represents only the village itself. The larger number would include "Greater Bali", including the suburbs and outlying areas of the Bali Sub-Division, a governmental administrative unit of the province.

Language
The first language of the Bali-Nyonga people is Mungaka (a Bantoid language).  There are an estimated 45,000 native speakers of Mungaka, and many more non-native speakers.  The language was at one point the lingua franca taught by Swiss-German missionaries working in the region.  Most Bali-Nyonga also speak "Pidgin" (an English-based creole).  English and French are the official languages in Cameroon and are taught in the public schools.
