What started as a college job operating high-speed photocopiers turned into
an intense five-year education in small business marketing and management.
This job was the foundation on which I was invited to serve as a cooperative
business advisor for The Peace Corps
in Africa. It was also my first experience designing databases, which became
the focus of my work with Motorola Satellite
Communications.
EXPERIENCE
Developed databases to track stocks and sales, and to manage communications with Uni-Print clients.
Instituted policies and procedures for Uni-Print to efficiently obtain copyright permission following a 1991 district court interpretation of the fair use doctrine.
Created and directed Uni-Print's marketing program targeted to colleges. Within two years this became the most profitable activity undertaken by the business.
Maintained more than 50 Uni-Print Course Readings accounts with instructors and other university staff.
Designed, wrote text for, and coordinated printing and distribution of Uni-Print promotional brochures.
